    Fear of hitting curb dividers?

So during my rental, driving the Huracan in packed traffic was one of the most daunting & high pressure moments in any car I have driven. I would be fine driving a normal sedan in traffic b/c it is seated higher, less blind spots, and stop and go is much more user friendly. But in a Huracan, you sit lower to the ground & you have major blind spots that almost makes me feel like I'm driving in a submarine w/ tiny windows. Also didn't realize the rear view mirror is harder to see out of due to the back just being an engine bay than a back seat. Especially making right turns, I had to take extra time to be absolutely sure I'm clear. The car is wider than most cars, plus being low to the ground makes it harder.

But there was one point I remember when I was in traffic and had to make a u-turn, there was a divider curb in the middle of the road. I thought to myself, if I wasn't super vigilant, I could have assumed it was not there and totally hit that curb. And with the car being so low, it would be like hitting a wall rather than just scrapping the bottom.

I think in this video, the guy fucked his car up in the way I was exactly afraid of. Not being able to see a divider curb separating parts of the road. Or assuming his car turning radius would clear the curb. But with Lambos, the turning radius is much wider and it's harder to see. I have no idea if I'm spot on, I only drove it for 2 hours, but it was something I realize now. But I am sure the internet would not feel bad for him and just assume he is just some asshole Lamborghini driver who deserved it. I think it was just an honest mistake and a very difficult maneuver he should have paid more attention too and taken some extra time. And I am assuming an Aventador has worse blind spot problems than a Huracan.

I don't care how the Lambo dealers try to play off the Huracan as a daily driver. Maybe it's more bareable than an Aventador, but I would choose a normal car like a BMW 3 series or a smart car if all my commute meant maneuvering around a highly traffic congested city w/ tight spots. Especially w/ the curb positioned like that. This guy seemed to be doing everything right, but just that one mistake he made makes all those right decisions not count anymore. That was just a tiny curb, and it did so much damage, and this guy must have done everything right until this point, which really sucks.

Well, at least I learned my lesson before it can happen.

The guy in the vid was a douchebag and a showoff to boot. And he paid for it. Btw, never compare Huracan's ease of drive to the Aventador's heavy laborious one.
Huracan could be a dd very easily, or it could be a beast by a flick of a switch.
My advice to you would be to save some serious money and rent the Huracan for the entire week. After a year report back to us.

I didn't want to assume and come off as a hater. But if he sped into that curb thing like he assumed it wasn't there than I would agree.

I'm just wondering people thought I was an asshole when say all front position lanes at the traffic lights were full, I would pull next to an open spot that wasn't really an official lane, but it was big enough to fit my car and I just have to gun it at green and go around them. I had to do it because I was on a 2 hour rental and there was heavy traffic, so had to get my money's worth.

But my friend's lil sister's BF has a Lamborghini Aventador SV. I know the little sister, but she's not my direct friend, but I have hung out w/ her on occasion. I wanna ask her if her BF would be cool to take me for a ride in his Lamborghini and I would offer to buy him lunch. I am sure he isn't gonna go outta his way for a free lunch, but I was hoping he'll accept my offer. I don't really care to drive his car, I actually wanna be passenger next time I'm in a Lamborghini. I just hope he understands I test drove a Huracan and just want to try out a different Lamborghini. Plus his is a SV and I heard they're faster!

No, not hating at all. Why the assumption btw?
To me, it appears that the guy (an asshole) assumes, since he's driving exotic, everybody should yield to him.
Then watch his reaction. Who does that?

Never drove SV, so if you score it with the gf, please let us know the experience

No I did not want to appear as the hater and say this guy was an asshole. I follow Nyjah Huston who posts his Aventador, people will go on saying he's an asshole, sellout, dick, rich asshole, whatever. I talked to him in person about his Lamborghini and he told me how much he paid OTD for it, what upgrades it had, it had low miles, and he said it felt more like a race car compared to the Huracan. So ya he's famous and a Lambo owner, I never felt he was an asshole the entire time I talked to him, even though tons of kids following him will talk shit on him about how stuck up he is.

I just wanna get a ride in that SV and see how it compares to a Huracan. I see her comments and people go nuts to see her in an Aventador. I've lurked on the BF's instagram before and he made a caption saying "I drive an Aventador b/c I have a small dick". LoL, I just wondered if ppl he knew hated on him or attacked him for driving that car.

Haven't asked her yet, I only asked the girl for advice on driving a Lambo but she said she never got to drive her BF's aventador. I mean I think the BF shoud let her, what's the worst that can happen lol.

I wrote on a different post, but I daily drove my stock Huracan for approximately 3 weeks straight in El Nino, in traffic on 405, other freeways and in the city, and places you shouldn't drive such an outrageous vehicle, etc. I was fine. The most important things I do when driving are 1) have to concentrate when driving and 2) respect others (just as if I drove my daily driver). I don't cut people off (sorry anyone if I did because I really didn't mean it), be obnoxious and floor it while driving in the city, and stuff that will have a high likelihood of being on youtube.

I got used to not be able to see my driver side blind spot because I concentrate and look out generally 25 yards in advance and am aware of my surroundings.

As for not seeing my rear, especially if I park head in, as I walk back to my car, I start being aware of traffic around and back out really slowly and wait my turn.

After daily driving the H for such a long period of time (in my book) and developing habits, from starting and shutting down, it is like riding a bike everytime I drive it now. I am used to all the nuisances. I just started to fold back the rear view mirrors when I park a couple days ago and it is messing with my routine.

As I type this, I feel like it is a job to drive this car. Hah.

Give it another shot and you might have a different experience the second time. Good luck.

Ya I do realize driving this car can feel like a job when you're forced to drive in traffic. And ya I did floor it every traffic stop I could so I could feel the launch, which is amazing. But after 2 hours, my body was really tired, it felt like I got off an airplane.

So ya I'm glad I got to drive one for $300 for 2 hours to figure out what it takes to drive a car like this. Ya you become the center of attention, people snap photos of your car. It's def faster than any normal sports sedan out there.

On the being an asshole showing off.

Ya, I think I see how it happened. He revved the engine to show off, then puts the car back in gear and probably hit the curb.

From driving it last time, you gotta push both the - & + pedals at the same time to shift into Neutral. Then push + to go back into first. So maybe his car was still at a high RPM whenever he shifted back into gear, which lunged his car forward into the curb. I never tried shifting the car back into 1st gear while the engine was still revved, I would watch the RPM needle to be sure it went back to the bottom.

I would only rev the car if I was absolutely certain there was nothing in front of me. And def not in motion.

l'll refrain from calling him an asshole and I'll rephrase to call him a Total Asshole.
I er watched the vid. From about 1:15 look at his reaction kicking the car and yelling, Fuck, fuck fuck fuck. Who does that except douchebags.

We've all been involved in accidents. First thing I'd do is to call my wife and tell her: Honey, nobody's hurt, and I'm okay.
The guy needs to practise that. Tell him that next time you talk to him

I was looking at a few crashed cars for sale and you're prolly right , most of them look like the hit a curb they couldn't see.
