key fob, warning
hi, have a '16 580-2.... sometimes I get this warning notice on dash board about putting the key near something to get the key to be recognized or something... I usually push the lock/unlock and the key seems to be noticed by the car receiver and I can start the car but what location is it referring to ?
yeah, I did not research much on the manual; it's probably there but i'm also trying to get info from you guys as to why this happens and what do I do to avoid this situation... tnx in advance,
jim R

Where do you have your key when this happens? In your pocket?

key fob
yeah, either in my pocket or in my hand, as I'm getting into the driver's seat..
and it usually will 'wakeup' when I press the lock/unlock button, it seems...
but I'm just wondering what the dash board is saying; about putting the key fob near some location ; as if I need to have the RF signal recognized or something...

Its a first when i hear about this on a Huracan but i can tell from other cars that this happens when the battery runs low on the remote.

Not sure if it's the same issue but it could be cell phone interference. I have this problem in my new X5 some times where a warning pops up on my dash telling me the key was not found. If I move the key away from my cell phone everything is fine. It's weird.

I get this every once in a while but now get a low battery warning. Is it easy to change the fob battery?
